Visitation for Richard S. Ogibovic, 63, of Manteno, will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Brown Funeral Home, Manteno, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Father Al Heidecke will officiate.
Burial will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood IL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Illinois Veterans Home at Manteno, IL. He died Friday, Jan. 22, 2010, at Holy Cross Hospital in Chicago, IL.
Mr. Ogibovic was the owner of Ogibovic Tire Service in Chicago Heights, IL, and Peotone, IL, retiring after 40 years. He later worked at the Illinois Veterans Home at Manteno, IL.
He was born Nov. 14, 1946, in Chicago Heights,IL the son of John S. and Leona D. Haake Ogibovic. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving two years in Vietnam aboard the USS Higby. He was of the Catholic faith and a member of the Manteno American Legion and the Beecher AMVETS. He enjoyed visiting his grandchildren, golfing and traveling.
Surviving are his wife, the former Debbie VanVleck, whom he married March 18, 2006, in Manteno, IL; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Richard and Melissa Ogibovic of Momence, IL, Brian Ogibovic of Goodyear, AZ; one daughter, Taren Ogibovic of Goodyear, IL; one stepdaughter, Kathy Poskin of Kankakee, IL; five grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren; one sister, Judith Molander of Phoenix, AZ; one brother and sister-in-law, John and Virginia Ogibovic of LaPorte, IN; and many nieces and nephews.
His previous wife, Jacqueline Ogibovic, is deceased.
