    • Vonda Shafer, 57, a veteran of World War I passed away Sunday morning at a veterans' hospital at Jacksonville, IL

      He is the son of W. S. Shafer of Olney.

      He was born in Richland County on January 30, 1888.

      Besides his father he leaves two sons, W. M. Shafer of Lake Bluff, IL and Virgil D. Shafer of the U. S. Navy, now in the Pacific. Also a sister, Mrs. Floy Adamson of Claremont, and a brother Joy Shafer of Robinson, and three grandchildren.

      Funeral services were held Tuesday with interment at Haven Hill Cemetery.
