  • Notes
    • For many years Bill and Jeanne lived in Mattoon where Bill was employed as a carpenter for the Reasor Corporation. He later accepted a position with The Illinois Consolidated Telephone Company in Charleston, which he held until his retirement in 1986.

Bill was an active and faithful member of First General Baptist Church in Mattoon for many years - serving as a Deacon for more than thirty of those years. He later transferred his membership to the First Baptist Church in Charleston where he continued to faithfully serve the Lord.

Bill was an avid fisherman and extremely talented and skillful in the art of woodworking. When he could no longer enjoy these hobbies due to his declining health, Bill learned to quilt - making quilts for others including 104 lap quilts which were generously given to nursing home residents, disabled veterans and the homebound.

Bill's kind and generous heart and deep respect for others created many long-lasting friendships. His family remained his first priority and his devotion and love for them provided a wonderful husband and father; and a grandfather and great-grandfather, who delighted in spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
