Notes - Gerald F. Blank, 82, of Noble, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2022, surrounded by family at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney, IL. He was born to Raymond and Martha (Schneider)Blank on May 2, 1939 in Stringtown. He married Linda (Weidner) Blank on January 26, 1974. She preceded him in death on March 8, 2021.
Gerald served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1961-66. He was strong in his Catholic faith and attended Holy Cross Church in Wendelin. Gerald also had a very strong work ethic. He worked for Dolls Inc. in Olney for 50+ years. He retired in 2019. He was a favorite of many customers over the years and never forgot those he met along the way.
Gerald is survived by three daughters, Barbara (Greg)Amerman, Cheryl (Dallas) Colwell, and Cindy Blank all of Noble. Grandsons, Kyle Amerman and special friend, Jenny, Nicholas (Elizabeth) Amerman, Luke Colwell, and Jack Colwell all of Noble. Great Granddaughters, Emmalee, Amyah and Allie, and one brother, Jim (Carolyn) Blank of Olney, many brother and sister in laws, nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, wife Linda, nephews, Derek and Nate, great-niece, Elizabeth.
Gerald was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan, loved Bluegrass music and loved to watch his grandsons play sports, especially Olney Tiger Football.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Geralds memory to one of the following: Carle Center for Philanthropy (Hospice), Holy Cross Church or Olney Tiger Football program.
A visitation will be held for friends and family on Monday, April 18, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Wendelin, Illinois.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Gerald at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at the church.
Interment will follow the service at Holy Cross Cemetery.
