    • Shirley Ann Osborn, age 74 of Bridgeport, passed away at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, July 23, 2019.

      She was born May 22, 1945 in Pixley Township, Clay County IL to Charles Thomas Brown and his wife Vida Mae (Phillips)Brown.

      Shirley's life stretched from being born in a log cabin with no electricity, riding a horse to school until 10 years of age, living abroad, to being a world traveler. She worked at a variety of occupations throughout her life and was highly valued for her contributions at each and every one. Caring about her community was shown through volunteering her time and talent with Project Linus, missionary work in Yemen and Kenya, and many local organizations. Shirley had a passion for music, was a talented pianist, avid gardener, and a quilter. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Bridgeport, IL and an associate member of Dhahran Protestant Fellowship in Saudi Arabia. Shirley's greatest joy was spending time with her family, her church community, and living her life to the fullest.

      Surviving family includes: two daughters- Cindy Hawkins and husband Randy, Bridgeport, IL; Lisa Osborn and husband Eric, Austin, TX; two brothers- Dale Brown and wife Darla, BeeBee, AR; Philip Brown and wife Synda, Flora, IL; two grandchildren- Austin Hawkins, Union, MO; Shelby Potts and husband Justin, two great granddaughters- Lexi and Leah Potts, Bridgeport, IL; sister of the heart, Sandra Mauldin, San Antonio, TX; grandson of the heart, Urijah McCallister, Willow Hill, IL; and a very loving extended family.

      Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Thomas and wife Vida Mae Brown.

      A celebration of life will be held for Shirley Ann Osborn at First United Methodist Church, Bridgeport, IL. Saturday, July 27, 20019 between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. with remarks and a moment of prayer at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Stephen Killion.
