  • Notes
    • Raymond G. “Bus” Foreman, age 82, of Sailor Springs, Illinois, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Clay County Hospital.

Born on June 13, 1942, in Louisville, he was the son of Willard B. and Dorothy Merle (Pickens) Foreman. On January 26, 1963, he married Geraldine Brown, and together they celebrated over 61 years of marriage.

Bus had worked in the oil field in his younger years before working as an auto mechanic and owning and operating Foreman’s Garage in Sailor Springs. He enjoyed building and restoring old cars and motorcycles, and could fix just about anything. He wouldn’t give up on a project no matter how long it would take.

He enjoyed fishing at Newton Lake, riding motorcycles, and playing cards, even though he rarely managed to beat Geraldine. In his later years, Bus found joy in relaxing and watching “Gunsmoke” and other classic TV Westerns. Above all, the time he was able to spend with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him a lot of happiness.

Bus is survived by his wife: Geraldine Foreman of Sailor Springs; son-in-law: Ron Goldstein of Flora; 3 grandchildren: Carrie Goldstein of Flora, Isaac (Claudia) Goldstein of Xenia, and Dawson Goldstein of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 3 great-grandchildren: Tucker Childers of Flora, Hadley Childers of Flora, and Jameson Goldstein of Xenia; 2 sisters: Mona Tokos of Malvern, Ohio, and Marla Foreman of Flora; a special niece: Tonya (Allen) Bonham of Xenia; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter: Gerri Lynn “Prudy” Goldstein; 2 brothers: Gregory Neil “Grubby” Foreman and Willard Brent “Maverick” Foreman; a sister: Marjorie Holland; parents-in-law: William Ricie and Lois M. Brown; 2 brothers-in-law: Rex and Donnie Brown; and 2 sisters-in-law: Annabelle Barnard and Judy C. Powless.

There will be no services. Memorial donations are suggested to a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are by Frank & Bright Funeral home in Flora
