  He was a shear operator & foreman at Rockford Drop Forge in Rockford, IL and farmed after retiring from there. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, was a member of the Rockford American Legion & VFW, past board member of Morris-Kennedy School District in Rockford, and past board member of the Rockford Christian Camp.
