  He received his education and grew to manhood in this locality, and later worked around Tonica and Pana. August 26, 1906 he was married to Lucy M. Hitchcock. They then moved to their farm near Clay City, which was their home for a number of years during this time, and until his retirement he was employed by the B.& O Railroad in the Bridge and Building department.
