    • A retired area farmer, he was a member of the Wayne County Farm Bureau, had been named Wayne County Young Farmer of the Year, and was a past president of the Rinard School Board. He was a member of Rinard United Methodist Church, Anthony Doherty Masonic Lodge 1111 in Cisne, of which he was past publicity chairman, Belleville Consistory, Ainad Temple, Flora Elks Lodge, Flora Moose Lodge, and Rinard Ruritan Club. He was an avid antiquer and enjoyed traveling, camping and dancing.
