  Sarah M daughter of Thomas J. & Sinah M. Bagwell was born Jan. 7, 1835 in Mt. Carmel, IL. She passed away April 10, 1915 at the Olney Sanitarium. When very young they moved to Old Maysville where they kept a hotel or tavern on the old state road. She married Morris Brissenden Dec. 22, 1853. Seven children were born, two died in infancy. Their only daughter Mary E. and a son, John died. Three sons are left: James, Fred, and Frank. She is survived also by three sisters: Mrs. Amanda Evans, Mrs. Elizabeth Mills, and Mrs. Lou McIlvain, all of Clay City. Burial was in the IOOF Cemetery at Clay City.
