  • Notes 
    • Cecil graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University in 1938. He served as a pilot in the Army Air Corps during World War II, flying in the Pacific Theater and as part of the June 6, 1944 Normandy invasion.

      After the war, he conducted seaplane tours in St. Louis while serving in the Air Force Reserve. He was calle dto duty in the early 1950s and remained in the Air Force until he retired in 1966.

      He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomington. A memorial service for Mr. Petty will be held in Bloomington early next month. Memorials may be made to the church.
