She was born January 2, 1922 in Louisville to George & Hazel (Hopkins) Brewer. She married H. Carroll Bayler on August 30, 1943 in Louisville. He preceded her in death on December 7, 1999.
She was a homemaker and her memberships included the following: Louisville United Methodist Church, the Wesleyan Circle of the church, Clay County Home Extension, Louisville Women's Club, and the Clay County Republican Women. Mary enjoyed bird watching, painting, collecting antiques and being with her family.
She is survived by her sons: Bill Bayler & wife Marla of Olney and John Bayler & wife Lisa of Clay City; grandchildren: Amanda Beehn & husband Zac of Greencastle, IN, Nathan Bayler of Chicago, Reese Bayler of Clay City; step-grandchildren: Shawn & Seth Lehman of Flora, Lacey & Quade Lehman of Clay City; brothers: Wayne Brewer of San Francisco, CA, Dave Brewer of Rockledge, FL, Bill Brewer of St. Louis, MO; sister: Gwen Erwin of Wilmore, KY. She was preceded in death
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, January 5, 2008 at the Louisville United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Orchard Hill Cemetery, Louisville. Visiation will be from 9 AM until service time on Saturday at the Louisville United Methodist Church. Frank & Bright Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southeastern Illinois or Carroll Bayler Scholarship Fund and may be received at the funeral home.
