- Entered active service on January 12, 1944. Completed boot camp at Naval Training Station, Farragut, Idaho. Assigned to and served, in turn, with Torpedo Squadron 28 and Carrier Service Unit 6 in the Pacific Theater of Operations. Honorably discharged as a Aviation Radioman Third Class on June 2, 1946 at the Naval Personnel Separation Center, Camp Shoemaker, California. Earned the American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.
