Notes - Ronald E. "Gene" Corry, 75, of Flora, IL died at 1:04 PM Monday, May 10, 2010 at Clay County Hospital in Flora.
He was born February 8, 1935 in Flora to John Roy & Erma (Mann) Corry. He married Thelma Reddish on July 6, 1957 in Flora.
He served 4 years in the U.S. Navy, worked for the City of Flora retiring in 1993, and was a member of Flora Church of the Nazarene, the Friendship Sunday School Class of the church, and Flora American Legion Post #14. Gene was an avid Cubs fan and he also enjoyed geneology.
He is survived by his wife: Thelma Corry; son: Phillip Corry; daughter: Paula McKnight; four grandchildren: Mandy McKnight, Adam McKnight, Melissa Corry, and Joshua Corry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son (Roger Eugene Corry), and two brothers (Charles "Skip" Corry & twin brother Dean Corry).
Funeral services were held at Frank & Bright Funeral Home with Pastor Phil Alvord officiating.
Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery, Flora, with military honors.
Frank & Bright Funeral Home was in charge.
