    • Thomas Harold Rice, 77, of Kewanee, Ill., and formerly of Flora, died at 5:59 p.m. Tuesday, September 9, 2008, at Kewanee Hospital in Kewanee.

      There will be no visitation. Graveside services will at 1 p.m. Saturday at Elmwood Cemetery in Flora with Rev. Bill Renner officiating. Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Flora is in charge of arrangements.

      Mr. Rice was born November 21, 1930, in Clay County, the son of Lewis H. and Nina J. (Cox) Rice. He married Kaye Taylor on March 17, 1973, and she survives.

      He had worked in Quality Control for Kex Manufacturing Company in Olney and was a U.S. Army veteran.

      Mr. Rice is survived by his wife, Kaye Rice, of Olney; son, Ronald E. Rice of High Ridge, Mo.; daughter, Ileen Rice of Largo, Fla.; daughter, Kerri Daniel of Belleville; sister, Nina McCormick of Byron; sister, Kitty Holmes of West Salem; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

      He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Kelly, Dean, Robert, Gregory and Thomas Rice Jr.; brothers, Larry, Jim, Gary, Bobby and Buddy; and sister, Ruth Moseley.

      Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
