Notes - Lela Elizabeth Michels, 80, of rural Cisne, died at 3:45 a.m. Saturday, December 31, 2005, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Bunker Cemetery in Rinard.
Mrs. Michels was born on July 18,1925, in rural Clay City, the daughter of Allen and Alice (Hamilton) Hickenbottom. She married Albert C. Michels on August 11,1943, in Flora. He preceded her in death on September 13,1999.
She was a homemaker, a mother and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Clay City.
Mrs. Michels is survived by her daughter, Becky Rodgers and her husband, Delbert, of Cisne; three sons, Jay Michels, of Cisne, Allen Michels and his wife, Kathy, of Cisne, and Wilbur Michels, of Clay City; two sisters, Leah Boudreau, of Olney, and Joyce Powell, of Clay City; one half-sister, Alice Childers and her husband, Larry, of Flora; one stepsister, Betty Thomas, of Flora; one brother, Wesley Hickenbottom, of Claremont; three half-brothers, Jimmy Thomas and his wife, Della, of Clay City, Ellery Thomas and his wife, Marie, of Ingraham, and Sherman Thomas and his wife, Patty, of Clay City; one stepbrother, Tommy Thomas and his wife, Maxine, of Flora; and 11 grandchildren, Sarah and Brian Keck, Mary Sue Rodgers, Ben and Kassi Michels, Rob Michels, Emily Michels, Lukas Rodgers, Kasey Michels, Kari and
Curt Hancock, Elizabeth Fore, Scott Michels and Logan Michels.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert, her mother, Alice Thomas, and her father, Allen Hickenbottom.
Memorials may be made-to American Heart Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
