- Entered active service on January 4, 1944. Completed boot camp at Naval Training Station, Great Lakes, Illinois. Served at or aboard, in turn, the Carrier Aircraft Service Unit 21, the Pacific Landing Craft School, The Haskell-Class Attack Transport USS Lavaca APA-180, the Landing Ship, Tank USS LST 626, and the Bayfield-Class Attack Transport USS Dade APA-99. Honorably discharged as a Seaman Second Class on February 2, 1946 at the Naval Personnel Separation Center, Great Lakes, Illinois. Earned the American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, WWII Victory Medal, and the Philippines Liberation Medal.
