    • Florence Alice “Dottie” Dunlap, age 94, formerly of Clay City, Illinois, passed away Monday night, September 11, 2023, at Aperion Care in Fairfield.

      She was born October 10, 1928, in Keith Township, Wayne County, Illinois, the daughter of John George and Eliza Jane (Graham) Wright.

      Dottie was previously married to William “Bill” C. Dunlap on February 19, 1956, in O’Fallon.

      She had worked at International Shoe Company in Flora and Olney for 15 years, and Rexham for another 15 years. She was a past member of the Rebekahs, VFW Auxiliary, Eagles Auxiliary, Moose Auxiliary, and Clay County Hospital Auxiliary. Dottie had been affiliated with the Bethel EUB Methodist Church. She enjoyed time spent fishing and playing bingo.

      She is survived by nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Linda Wright.

      She was preceded in death by her parents; 5 sisters, Grace Settles, Melverna Beasley, Opal Wells, Hazel Settles, and Beulah Stine; 3 brothers, George A. Wright, as well as 2 infant brothers; and several nieces and nephews.

      Private burial will be at Wright Cemetery in rural Wayne County. Arrangements are by Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.
