  Opal WELLS, 86, of Clay City, died on Thursday, July 4, 1996, at her home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, at the Summers-Kistler Funeral Home, Clay City. Brad HARRIS will officiate at the services. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Wright Cemetery. Mrs. WELLS was born on March 27, 1910, in Wayne County. She married Floyd WELLS in 1930. He died in 1993. She was a homemaker and a member of the Bethel Baptist Church and was a 10 year member of the Clay County Saddle Club. Surviving are four sons, Harold WELLS of Clay City, Robert WELLS of Mt. Gilead, OH, Richard WELLS of Clay City, Allen WELLS of Clay City; five daughters, Betty EDWARDS of Sailor Springs, Frieda YOUNG of Andrews, TX, Doris CRESS of Effingham, Karen GROVE of Fairfield, and Jeanetta DAUBS of Fairfield; one brother, George WRIGHT of Clay City; one sister, Florence DUNLAP of Clay City; over thirty grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, on great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, one daughter and four sisters.
