  Charles B. McDowell, 85, of Toledo, formerly of Olney, died Friday, April 1, 1994 at 12:45 p.m. in the Cumberland Nursing Center in Greenup. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, at Barkley Funeral Home in Toledo. Burial will be at Crest Haven Cemetery in Olney. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, (Monday). McDowell was born Dec. 21, 1908, in Newton, the son of Clarence and Mary (Beverlin) McDowell. He married Etta Titus Aug. 10, 1942. He was a retired service station owner. He was a member of the Toledo United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, of Toledo; a son, Larry McDowell of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Sandra French of Albuquerque, N.M.; a step-daughter, Oma Layton of Toledo; a brother, Dorris McDowell of Florida; three sisters, Deane Greenwood of Newton, Evelyn Semple of Olney and Grace Bliss of Auburndale, Fla.; six grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
