On Veterans' Day, 2005, the city of Flora, Illinois dedicated a memorial to all known Clay County, Illinois World War II Veterans.
Located on the south side of the city library, this is a copy of the brochure honoring that event.

Notes - DECATUR -Sam Frank Jr., 69, of Decatur died 11:30 p.m. Sunday (April 5, 1992) in Veterans Administration Hospital, Danville.
Mr. Frank was born in Clay City on Dec. 4, 1922, son of Sam and Mary Catherine"Katie" Montgomery Frank Sr. He was a boilermaker at Superior Welding for 31 years, retiring in 1986. He was a World War II Air Force veteran and a life member of VFW Post 35224. He married Mary Colborn in 1947.
Surviving are his wife; sons, George W. and Mike D. Frank; daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Marcie) Skelton; brother, Ben; sisters, Alberta Gumble Mrs. Carl (Blanche) Crouse; Mrs. Russell (Kathryn) Milner; Mrs. Joe (Mary Lou) Husley; Mrs. Norman (Nadine) Mosley, Shirley Schnautz; Mrs. Nolan (Faye) Franklin; grandchildren, Jim Frank; Katie Frank, Leilani Frank and Jennifer Frank.
Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home.
There will be no services. Memorials: donor's choice.
