    • Dale E. Guinnee, 81, of Decatur, passed away on Wednesday (December 21, 2005) at Decatur Memorial Hospital.

      Funeral mass will be 11:15 a.m. on Friday, December 23, 2005, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Jeff Grant officiating. Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is assisting the family. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment with military rites performed by the Macon County honor guard and "Flight Home" ceremony will be in Graceland Cemetery.

      Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Association. Condolences may also be expressed online at www.gracelandfairlawn.com.

      Dale was born on June 26, 1924, in Pana, IL, the son of James E. and Lillian (Barnstable) Guinnee. He served his country proudly in the United States Army in Italy and Africa during WWII. Dale married Georgia Nease on July 29, 1950, in Olney, IL. He worked for the Illinois Central Railroad for 43 years. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

      Surviving are his wife; son David J. Guinnee and wife Leslie of Ottawa, IL; son James J. Guinnee of Morrison, NJ; daughter Susan Diemer and husband Steve of Peru, IL; step-son Gordon Clevy of Claremont, IL; sister Lillian DeMeyer and husband Maurice of Springfield, IL; nine grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
      He was preceded in death by his parents and brother James.
