- C.E. "Eldon" Billingsley, Rural Route 3, Lawrenceville, IL, died Sunday, July 4, 2004, at the Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville, IL. He was 82.
Born in Mt. Erie, IL, on November 17, 1921, he was the son of Roy Gardner Billingsley and Rosalee Mayo Billingsley. He married Virginia Pierce Billingsley on November 14, 1942 and she survives. He was owner and operator of C.E. Billingsley Oil Drilling Company for over 40 years; was a World War II Army Veteran; attended Central Christian Church; a member of the Elks, VFW, American Legion, Lawrence County Country Club.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Pierce Billingsley, of Rural Route 3, Lawrenceville; two sons, Larry Billingsley and his wife, Gayle of rural Lawrenceville and Chuck Billingsley of rural Lawrenceville; one brother, Lowell Billingsley of Flora; one sister, Eloise Kitten of Flora; three grandchildren, Jason and Dala Billingsley, Shelly and Peyton Billingsley and Eli Billingsley; three great-grandchildren, Emily, Jaedyn, Garrett Billingsley.
He was preceded in death by parents and one sister.
Graveside services and burial were held Wednesday, July 7, 2004, at the Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral in Lawrenceville, IL, are in charge of arrangements.
