  Gary W. Burgin, 73, of Olney, Illinois, passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021 at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital. Gary was born on July 10, 1948 in Richland County, IL, the son of John Everett & Inez (Fulk) Burgin. He married Rita "Kaye" Coonce on June 2, 1967 in Oblong, IL. Gary was a meat cutter for over 40 years in the local area. He also bought fur and roots with the Burgin Fur Company for over 20 years. Gary was an avid fishermen and hunter who loved the outdoors. Gary also loved going to auctions and antiquing. He had a strong faith and read his Bible daily. Gary was a great family man and enjoyed time with his children and grandchildren. Gary is survived by wife, Kaye Burgin of Olney; daughter, Michelle Alumbaugh and husband Matt of Olney; son, Matt Burgin and wife Kelly of Springfield, IL; grandchildren, Nicholas and Lucas Alumbaugh, Mason, Mitchell, Maya, and Molly Burgin; sister, Diana Burgin of Lawrenceville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents; sisters, Mary Burgin, Carol Brown, Una Tarpley, and Alice Brooks; brothers, Little Everett Burgin, Jr and Warren Burgin. A Funeral Service for Gary will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, September 10, 2021 at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney, with a visitation beginning one-hour prior. Private family interment will take place at a later date at Haven Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorials can be made to American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
