  Lelia M. Herdes, 83, of Clay City died November 14, 1994, at the Welborn Baptist Hospital, Evansville, Indiana. Mrs. Herdes was born May 19, 1911 in Pixley township, the daughter of Perry and Bertha Hunley Mitchel. She married Earl Herdes in 1930. She was a homemaker, a member of the Sailor Springs Christian church, and Happy Helpers Club. Survivors include a son, David; daughters Donna Herdes, Dionne Creamer, and Darlene Lambird; a sister, Ruth Hoard; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, a brother, a sister, and one grandson. Funeral services were held at the Sailor Springs Christian church with burial in the Smith Cemetery. Summers-Kistler Funeral Home of Clay City was in charge. (Published Clay County Advocate-Press)
