    • Entered active service as a draftee on October 20, 1944 and transferred to the enlisted reserve corps. At time of honorable discharge as a Private with a certificate of disability on December 12, 1942, at Camp Grant, Illinois, he was assigned to Company B, 29th Medical Training Battalion, same station. Earned the WWII Victory Medal for service during the period of eligibility.
