  Shelley J. (Sharp) Joyner, 64, of Clay City, Illinois, died on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois. Shelley was born on August 3, 1957 in Clay City to Marvin Sharp and Medora (Poppe) Jones. Later she married David Joyner, and he preceded her in death. Shelley enjoyed helping people in need. She volunteered her time to charitable organizations to help older folks and those in need. She loved to read and to garden. Shelley is survived by her sisters, Virginia Larrimore of Clay City, Sonya Adams and husband Jerry of North Wilkesboro, NC, and Barbara Sharp and companion Joel Henshon of Brewton, AL; brother, Richard Sharp of Clay City; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 07, 2021 at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Clay City, with a visitation beginning one hour prior.
