- Mr. Michael D. Russell, age 65, of Flora, died at 5:55p.m., Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at his home. Michael was born August 22, 1947, in Dyess, Arkansas.
His parents were the late Harold & Stella May Russell. He graduated High School, and joined the United States Marine Corps serving 1967-1970, during Vietnam. On April 29, 1979, he married Sue Dulaney at their home in Flora, IL. Mr. Russell worked career as a CSX tracksman and retired in August 2007. Michael was a member of the Flora VFW and the American Legion.
Michael is survived by his wife Sue of Flora, four children; Shawn Russell and his wife Amy of Mahomet, IL, Misty Garrett and husband Sam of Flora, George Russell of Flora, and James Russell and girlfriend Pam Trotter of Flora, IL, eight grandchildren; Timothy, Promise, Kevin, Bethi, Faith, Jason, Brooke, & Brittany, and three great grandchildren; Xavier, Brayden and Aiden, one brother, Ken Russell of Malta, IL and several brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, & nephews. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Roger Russell.
Funeral services at Byrd & Kohn Funeral Home in Flora. Interment at Macadonia Cemetery in rural Mt. Erie, IL.
