  	Elliott G. Atherton, Sr, 70, of Flora, died at 6:20 am Friday,Oct 18, 1991 at Richland Memorial Hospital, Olney IL. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Monday at the Frank and Bright Funeral Home, Flora. Visitaition will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Elmwoood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Clay County Cancer Fund. Mr. Atherton was born June 11, 1921, in Ottawa, the son of David and Grace (Cox) Atherton. He married Erma Young March 11, 1968. He was a member of the American Legion. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs Linda McPeak of Louisville, and Mrs Bob (Rita) Savage of Ottawa; three sons, David Gene of Flora, Frank of Rockford, and Elliott Jr of Flora, two step-daughters, Mrs Paula (Thomas)Burrow of Flora, and Miss Karen McCormick of Flora, two step-sons Allan and David McCormick both of Flora, one sister, Bonnie of Ottawa; seven grandchildren and six step-grandchildren. He was preceeded in death by his parents, one sister and one son. (Death certificate in Richland County Il) Occupation: Tree Trimer and Oil field worker.
