  Carolyn S. Hurd, 68, of Flora, IL died at 6:22 AM, Saturday, February 16, 2008 at her residence. Carolyn was born August 6, 1939 to Lyle & Ina (McKinney) Stanley in Sailor Springs, IL. She married James E. Hurd on November 5, 1956 in Flora, IL. He preceded her in death on March 21, 2003. Carolyn worked as an Obstetrics Technician for 17 years at the Clay County Hospital, after which, she worked as a CNA at the Flora Pavillion for 27 years, until her retirement. Carolyn is survived by 3 daughters: Dana (Carl) Zimmerman of Flora, IL, Tina (Bill) Wilke of Louisville, IL, Lisa Peck of Flora, IL; 10 grandchildren: Daniel (Lindsay) Hurd of Carterville, IL, Ian Hurd of Iuka, IL, Edward Hurd of Iuka, IL, Erin Hurd of Iuka, IL, Rodney E. Franklin of Flora, IL, Kyle Zimmerman of Flora, IL, Dustin Zimmerman of Flora, IL, Jason Zimmerman of Flora, IL, Rikki (Mike) Holding of Taylorville, IL, Ashley Belcher of Flora, IL; 4 Great Grandchildren: Alexis Holding of Taylorville, IL, Ashton Cruse of Taylorville, IL, Aayden Cruse of Taylorville, IL, Alexander Smith of Flora, IL; and 1 sister Barbara (Don) Hamilton of Flora, IL. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at 10:30 AM at the Frank & Bright Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Flora, IL.
