Text | Elise Hasler married Lorenzo Dow Iler on Aug 27, 1895 in Osceola, Nebraska. They had three children: 1)Hazel Iler (Apr 8, 1898-March 3, 1967 in Seward, NE) 2)Leonard Alan Iler(Jan 1896 in Pilger, NE-?) m.Claire Jane Rustemeyer(Jan 19, 1901 in Pilger-Apr 20, 1938) on Aug 8, 1920 in Boyd Co, NE. 3) ? Elise next married Glenn Willard Chase(Jan 12, 1874 in Polk Co., NE -Nov 3, 1935 in Polk) on May 26, 1914 in NE. Thet had one child: 1)Glenn Warren Chase(Dec 31, 1916-Jan 1, 1997) Lorenzo Dow Iler's obit is below: Columbus Journal, April 13, 1904 DIED ILER--D. Iler, known to many Columbus people, died Friday in Fullerton after a short illness. His wife came through here Friday from their home in Colorado, but did not reach the bedside of her husband until death had come. Mr. Iler, leaves besides his wife, three children. Chris. Josie, John Hessler, and Mrs. Mary Hungerford, uncle, brother and sister respectively, of Mrs. Iler, all went from here to Fullerton to attend the funeral. The Ilers left Colorado about one year ago. Note: The obit states that the uncle of the wife of D. Iler was Chris. Josie. Chris. Josie is another variant spelling of Christian Jossi, brother of Susanna Jossi. The obit also states that the wife of D. Iler had a brother named John Hessler, he being Johannes Hasler(Oct 5, 1876-) the brother of Elise Hasler and a sister named Mary, being Elise's sister Maria(Aug 19, 1879-?) who apparently married a man by the name of Hungerford. Columbus Journal, March 31, 1909 IOSSI-BAUMANN--Simon Iossi of Platte Center and Miss Clara Baumann of Loup City were married in Madison county March 23. The wedding reception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Nohel of Norfolk. Those who were present at the ceremony were Alfred Iossi and Miss Stella Hessler of Columbus and Mr. and Mrs. Nohel of Norfolk. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Baumann of Loup City, but formerly of Columbus, and the groom is a son of Christ Iossi of east of Columbus. Mr. and Mrs. Iossi will make their home on the Linihan farm near Platte Center, which the groom has rented for this year. Note: At the marriage of Johann Simon Iossi(Jossi), the nephew of Susanna Jossi and JoJohannes Hasler,(being the son of Susanna's brother Christian), and Clara Baumann there attended a Miss Stella Hessler. I do not know who she is for sure, but I assume that she is the daughter of John Hessler(Johannes Hasler). What is know is that she was confirmed under the name of Stella Hasler in 1908 in St. Luke Congregational, UCC in Platte Co. Also confirmed in that Church were Anna Hasler in1897 and Albert Hasler in 1903. I assume that they were all the children of John Hessler(Johannes Hasler) as he would have been the only male Hasler, that I can find, living in the area at the time. | |
