- Dean O'Dell, age 72, of Ingraham, IL, passed away at 2:46 pm, Monday, December 2, 2013, at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.
Dean was born Wednesday, February 12, 1941 in Cripple Creek, CO, the son of Harold and Winnie (James) O'Dell. On August 25, 1991 he was united in marriage to Rose Workman.
He enjoyed his time as a member of the American Legion of Sailor Springs and was a faithful member of the Holy Cross Church of Wendelin. He was employed by Hughes Aircraft of California as an engineer.
Dean is survived by wife, Rose O'Dell; sons, James, Matt, and Luke O'Dell; daughter, Charlotte Kirkpatrick; brothers, Chuck O'Dell and James O'Dell; sisters, Anna Barnett, Darlene Garroute, Laura Gearhart; 16 grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, brother Walter O'Dell, sister Thelma O'Dell and infant sister Regina O'Dell.
Arrangements are being handled by J.W. Neal Funeral Home, Louisville, IL.
Funeral service will be held at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Wendelin.
Interment to be at Brooks Cemetery, rural Ingraham, IL.
Military rites will be accorded at the cemetery.
Memorial donations to the Clay County Health Department.
