  Mrs. Maria J. Garrett, 72, widow of Elias Garrett, passed away at her home, 710 S. Whittle avenue last night after a short illness. She had made her home in Olney for the last 43 years. Surviving are two sons, Elmer and Jesse Garrett, both of Olney, and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Olney Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. L. C. Brown in charge. Burial will be at Haven Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at Olney Funeral Home until time for the services. Taken from an Olney, Illinois area newspaper, June 8, 1942.
