Joan Rudolphi, 89 years old, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital where she resided on the 3rd floor.
Joan was born in Clay County, Illinois, the daughter of Gus and Leona Klingler. She married Herman Rudolphi on May 17th, 1955. Herman preceded her in death on October 26, 2017.
Joan was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Fan. She enjoyed going to games, as well as watching them on TV. She had many hobbies, including crocheting, cooking, sewing, making quilts and doilies. Joan was a devoted, strong and determined woman who passed so many of these traits on to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Joan lived all of her life on the farm with her husband, Herman. They lived south of Passport. Here they established a family and worked hard for over 65 years. The family continues to gather here today.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Leona Klingler, her husband, Herman, a son Keith, a great-grandson Reed, a step-grandson Nicholas and a sister Helen.
Joan is survived by her 11 children, Ed of Plainfield, IN, Bob (Theresa) of Newton, Don (Deb) of Newton, Theresa (Jack) Laley of Maryland Heights, MO, Jeff Herf and Lisa Witt of Olney, Dave (Tammy) of Newton, Tim Butch (Lori) of Elberfeld, IN, Pam (Kevin) Ochs of Olney, Scott Fred and Michele Walker of Dundas, Brenda (Patrick) Slover of Olney, Todd (Sherrie) of Newton. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, and 5 step great-grandchildren. Surviving siblings are sisters Eleanor Buerster and Rosie Stroder, brothers, Dean Klingler and Henry (Angie) Klingler, sister-in-law, Dorothy Uebinger and brother-in-law, Richard (Meredith) Rudolphi.
A visitation for Joan will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olney.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olney.
Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Wendelin.
Kistler Patterson Funeral Home in Olney is assisting the family with arrangements.
