- DONALD E. BLACKWELL, 81, of Cisne, IL passed away 2:35AM Saturday, July 12, 2014 at his home.
Donald was born December 4, 1932 at Flora, IL to Eldon and Hazel (Blackwell) Reid. He married Marilyn R. Douthit May 25, 1957 at Carbondale, IL. She preceded him in death May 1, 2000.
Donald is a thirty year retiree from Caterpillar Tractor at Aurora, IL where he was an inspector and graphic artist. He enjoyed art, boxing, and cars. He served two years in the US Army in Field Artillery. Donald was a 1953 Flora High School graduate. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree at Southern Illinois University and his Master's Degree at Northern Illinois University. Donald was a member of the Moose Lodge, and the Elks Lodge at Flora, IL.
Donald is survived by one daughter Marilyn Donna (Brian) Bennett of Aurora, IL and one son Donald A. (Laura) Blackwell of Phoenix, AZ; one granddaughter Devin Rose Blackwell and two great grandchildren Vincent and Bunnie Rose.
Preceding him in death was his wife Marilyn and his parents.
Funeral service for Donald E. Blackwell will be noon on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Hosselton Funeral Home. Entombment will be at Cisne Cemetery. Visitation will be 10AM to time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
