  Obituary from News-Gazette, The (Champaign-Urbana, IL) - May 19, 2006, pg. A-4: GIBSON CITY - Phyllis L. Chambliss, 79, of Gibson City died at 2 p.m. Wednesday (May 17, 2006) at Asta Care Center of Ford County, Paxton. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lamb Funeral Home, 303 N. Church St., Gibson City. The Rev. Ed Taylor will officiate. Burial will be in Drummer Township Cemetery, Gibson City. Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Mrs. Chambliss was born June 29, 1926, in Wayne County, a daughter of Rufus S. and Fanny Beeson Whitson. She married Theodore P. Chambliss on May 17, 1947, in Geff. He died Nov. 1, 2001. Survivors include a brother, . . . . Mrs. Chambliss was a member of First Christian Church in Gibson City. Memorials may be made to Asta Care Center of Ford County Activity Fund.
