- Virgil Berry, 85, Olney, and a resident of the Lawrenceville Methodist Village, died at the Lawrenceville Monday evening. Graveside services for Mr. Berry will be at the Crest Haven Memorial Park with Pastor Phil Gardner presiding.
Mr. Berry was born in Clay County on Sept. 1, 1894, son of John O. and Susan (Robards) Berry. He married Catharine Johnston on May 11, 1918, and she died on June 19, 1975. He was an Olney Township road commissioner for many years, and city of Olney street foreman. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by a son, Jack of Media, Pa.; a daughter, Mrs. William (Charlotte) Bosson of Phoenix, Ariz.; a brothers, Robert of Hutchinson, Kansas; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, a brother, Russell, and infant brother, and a sister, Mrs. Lottie Poff.
