- REUBEN H. HARMON, 92, PASSES AWAY
. Reuben H. Harmon age 92, well known resident of 1306 East Chestnut street, passed away last night at the Richland Memorial Hospital, following a long period of ill health.
. Mr. Harmon was a lifelong resident of Richland County and was born near Claremont, the son of Alexander Harmon and Iva Alice Gardner. He was married to Lula Mae Bunn on January 1, 1908 and she preceded him in death on December 7, 1969.
. Mr Harmon operated a blacksmith shop in Olney for several years at the corner of York and Morgan streets. He later was employed in the Olney branch of the International Shoe Company for several years before his retirement. He was a charter member of Fraternal Order of Eagles in Olney and maintained his membership there until his death.
. He leaves five sons and five daughters; Charles Harmon, Adrian Harmon, Dean Harmon, Mrs. Pauline Newberry and Mrs. Mary Alice Burgener, all of Olney; Seibert Harmon of Hammond, Ind., Marshall Harmon of Peoria, Mrs. Mildred Williams of Newton, Mrs. Helen Griffith of Yale and Mrs. Delores Tedfors of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. There are 38 grandchildren and 47 great grandchildren.
. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Marie Abrams, a son Myron Harmon, two infant sons and one infant daughter, one brother, William, four sisters, Mrs. Mabel Beamen, Miss Nellie Harmon, Miss Julia and Miss Fannie Harmon.
. A Funeral Mass for Mr. Harmon will be recited in St. Joseph's Church in Olney at 10:00 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Fr. L. P. Duesing the celebrant of the Mass. Interment will be in Haven Hill Cemetery.
. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday and a prayer service will be in the funeral home at 8:00 p.m. Friday.
