Notes |
- George served in the U.S. Army in 1962 during the Cuban Missile Crisis while stationed in Everglades National Park. After his discharge in 1967, George and Nancy remained in South Florida until retiring and moving to Flora in 2002. After 30+ years working in electrical supply sales, he retired from McDonald Electrical Distributors in 2002. George had been a charter member and trustee of the Village United Methodist Church in North Lauderdale, Florida, and after returning to Illinois in retirement, he and Nancy became members of Flora First United Methodist Church. George enjoyed working on computers, spending time gardening, and attending family reunions. His faithful friend and companion was his dog, Bosco, and without a doubt, his grandkids were his true pride and joy.
