- NASHVILLE Ms. Helen "Joy" Broadwater, 82, of Nashville died at 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, at Friendship Manor Healthcare Center, Nashville.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Spring Hill Cumberland Church Cemetery, St. Elmo, with the Rev. Jim Giffin officiating. Friends may call Spring Hill Cumberland Church for one hour prior to services. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to and will be accepted by Campagna Funeral Home. Ms. Broadwater was born May 29, 1928, in Fayette County, the daughter of Baine and Mary (Rhodes) Lilly.
Helen worked as an egg inspector for the USDA for more than 30 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Nashville, and was a Sunday School teacher. She was a past president of the Business and Professional Women of Nashville.
She was an active member of Royal Neighbors of America and delivered meals on wheels. Joy loved spending time with children, growing flowers and traveling.
Left to mourn her passing is her daughter, Karen Lunte and her husband, Harlin, of Nashville; a brother, Clement Lilly of St. Elmo; two grandchildren, Beth McFeron and Brad Lunte, both of Nashville; five great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Tanner McFeron and Edric, William and Delilah Lunte; and nieces, nephews, other relations and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Vaugh Lilly; sister, Ruth Sage; and two sisters-in-law, Gereda and Jean Lilly.
