- Donald Robert Sager, 87, of Parkersburg, passed away at 11:03 PM on Friday, October 22, 2021 at his residence.
Visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 in the chapel of Thrasher Family Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10 AM on Thursday, October 28, 2021 in the chapel of Thrasher Family Funeral Home. Burial will be at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens in Claremont. Pastor Gary Hall and the Richland County Veteran's Organization will be officiating.
Donald was born on April 5, 1934 in Lawrence County, the son of Cecil and Dessie Rae (Poland) Sager. He later married Kathy Burget on May 13, 1956 in Sumner. She survives.
He was in the United States Army. He owned his own gas station while he lived in Michigan for some years and also owned the NAPA store on Whittle Ave in Olney for several years. He loved cars, going to car shows, and anything that had to do with cars. He also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Donald is survived by his wife Kathy Sager of Parkersburg; 2 sons Carl Sager (Joan) of Claremont and Michael Sager (Karen) of West Salem; 2 sisters-in-law Dorothy Stice of Casey and Vivian Emmons of Lawrenceville; 23 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Dessie Rae Sager, son Kevin Sager, brother Leroy Sager and sister Josephine Ulrich, and great-granddaughter Nova.
Memorials can be sent to the American Cancer Society in memory of Donald Robert Sager.
