Frederick W. Songer came to Colorado on June 6, 1859.

When he was struck by a Golden interurban car at Brown's station near West 44th Ave., Frederick W. Songer was 92 years old. The Pioneer Coloradan and Civil War veteran was killed and his body dragged 100 feet. The aged man was waiting to take the car to Denver. Deafness prevented him from hearing its approach as he stopped on the track. He lived in Wheat Ridge with his daughter, Mrs. Frank Bond.
