- He had some great stories. Drove one those boats that transported marines to shore. His ship was never hit but a lot around him were hit by kamikazees.
He was a good basketball player. Every ship had a team and they played each other when they could. So the existing team on his ship snubbed him. He put his own team together and challenged them. He beat em. So his team represented the ship. (Source: Gloria Gray Saad)
