Sulphur Springs Echo
Patterson, John W. - Pioneer citizen and good man of Hopkins County, died Friday evening at his home between Brashear and Cumby from a heart attack following several months of failing health. Surviving are his wife and the following children: W.R. of Commerce, Mrs. O.L. Turner, Hugo, OK; O.L. Patterson, Ridgeway; Claude Patterson of Sulphur Springs; Fred Patterson of Commerce, Grace, Kenwood and Helen Patterson of Cumby; Mrs. Verge Stearman, Dike; Mrs. Cecil Hogan, Commerce. He also leaves three brothers, George Patterson, Sulphur Springs; Tom and Robert Patterson, Vernon; and one sister, Mrs. Abbie Littrell. Funeral services were held at Pleasant Grove with Elder Ed.
