- Mr. Thomas Chaney was born near Frankfort, IN October 15, 1841 the son of Abel and Christiana Chaney. They located here in 1853. He died at the Olney Hospital November 24, 1914.
In April, 1866 he married Mary E. Boyles. Nine children were born, six survive: Mrs. Minnie sheets, Mrs. Cora McGrew, Arthur and Chester, Edgar, F. C. Chaney.
His first wife died March 9, 1898 and he then married Mrs. Kitley in 1903.
He was a brother of C. C. Chaney and Mrs. E. Mcgilton of Clay City, D. F. Chaney of Springfield, and Mrs. Sallie Sheridan of Flora, IL.
Burial was in the IOOF Cemetery, Clay City.
