Darrell prided himself on making his parents proud; he was an excellent student, a strong athlete, witty beyond measure and smile that lit up any room he was in.

Darrell was an avid sports enthusiast, who as a youngster played baseball and basketball, as an adult he proudly coached several childrens sports teams, as a geezer he uproariously cheered his favorite teams. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. After 55 years of unwavering support of his Cubbies and enduring unrelenting chiding from rival St. Looser fans, he shamelessly gloated and celebrated their long anticipated World Series win.

Darrell was a proud 1978 graduate of East Richland High School, Olney, IL and of Eastern Illinois University, Charleston, IL (Bachelors & Masters Business Degrees). For 32 years he was employed as the Chief Operating Officer for Three Star Drilling in Sumner, IL, later also including Devin Energy in Canada.
