- Mrs. Mary M. Bones passed away very suddenly at her home in Clay City last Thursday evening where she lived alone since the death of Mr. Bones six years ago.
Her sudden death was a shock to the community, where she had long, lived and was well known. The suddenness of death was due to apoplexy.
She had been in slightly ill health for several months. It had been her habit, when ill to leave a light burning, that it might attract the attention of the neighbors. At about 9:30 p.m., Chas. H. Bones, her son, was returning from a lodge meeting, noticing the light, went to her assistance. Upon his arrival he found her in an unconscious state. After summoning the doctor and several friends, she passed away, never regaining consciousness.
