Richard Allen "Pete" Gill, 80, of Olney, died at 5:30 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2007, at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Scott Carlson and Rev. Mike Baker officiating. Burial will be in Crest Haven Cemetery in rural Claremont. Full military rites will be conducted graveside by Olney Veterans.

Mr. Gill was born November 7, 1926, in Noble, the son of James and Hettie (Allen) Gill. He married Palma Arteberry on June 21, 1947. She survives.

He was retired from Dow Oil and was a farmer. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Olney and was a U.S. Army veteran.

Mr. Gill is survived by his wife, Palma Gill, of Olney; daughter, Sandra Burgener and her husband, Ron, of Olney; granddaughter, Nicole Woods and her husband, Brian, of Olney; great-grandchildren, Austin Allen Woods and Rachel McKay Woods; nephew, Keith Eckel and his wife, Sharon, of Olney; and great-nieces, Erika Eckel and Erin Akers.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert and Edward; and sisters, Grace Courtright, Edna Bradley and Mabel Aklin.

Memorials may be made to the Steber Family Relay For Life team.
