Survivors include her father, Brad Clark of Fairfield; a daughter, Jazlynn Ray of Fairfield and a sister, Shayla Clark of Evansville, IN.

Earned The Purple Heart Medal posthumously and was entitled to The American Campaign Medal, The Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with at least one bronze battle star, and the WWII Victory Medal. Memorialized with honors at Manila American Cemetery, Fort Bonifacio, Manila, Philippines.

246 64-year-old former Flora resident, Harla J. Wehde of Fairfield died at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24 at her home.

Surviving are her two daughters, Christinia (Eric) Roddiger of Houston, TX and Rebecca (T.J.) Vaughan of Fairfield, two grandchildren Grace Frey and Shannon Vaughan, three brothers Bill (Sue) Collins of Puryear, Tennessee, James (Diana) Collins of St. Charles, Missouri, and Tom Collins of Flora, IL, one sister Claudia (Don) Piepers of St. Charles, Missouri, four nieces and nephews, and 12 great nieces and nephews.

Services for Harla J. Wehde will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30 at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield with burial in Elmwood Cemetery in Flora.

Visitation will be from 5 – 7 Tuesday evening, Oct. 29 at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association and will be accepted at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield.

247 68-year-old Ella Mae Mix of Cisne, went to her heavenly home on Monday, November 18 with her sons by her side at Cisne Rehabilitation Health Care Center.

Ella was born March 28, 1951 to Bennie and Vivian Grace (Bricker) Simpson at Flora, Illinois. She married Ronald L. Mix June 27, 1969 in Flora, Illinois and they enjoyed 40 years together, he preceded her in death February 8, 2009.

Ella loved helping people and was a registered nurse in Texas and Clay County. She enjoyed taking photos and studying genealogy. She was often requested to bake cakes for friends and family. Ella would often set for hours watching the family’s horses. She was a member of Cisne Christian Church and strong supporter of Clay County Relay for Life.

Ella is survived by three sons, Travis (Shannon) Mix of Cisne, Illinois, Justin Mix of Iuka, Illinois and Jed (Hope) Mix of Jonesboro, Illinois; one sister Pattie (Eber) Bright of Cisne, Illinois; three brothers Herbert (Lois) Simpson and Thomas (Margaret) Simpson both of Flora, Illinois and Robert “Speed” (Lisa) Simpson of Ingraham, Illinois. Nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Ella was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Ronald.

Funeral service will be 12:00p.m. Saturday, November 23rd at Cisne Christian Church. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 12:00 at the church. Burial will be in Bunker Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Clay County Cancer Crusaders.
