Raleigh Laird, 70, Clay City, died Sunday, February 18, 1990 at 7:08 p.m. at Clay County Hospital in Flora.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Laird Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday (tonight) 6-8 p.m. at Hosselton-Bookhout-Engelmeier Funeral Home in Clay City.

Mr. Laird was born June 12, 1919 in Enterprise, the son of Rea and Mamie (McCormick) Laird. He married Wilma Franklin Wyatt in 1963. She survives in Clay City.

He was a carpenter.

Survivors include two sons, Larry Laird of Kankakee, Jerry Laird of Clearwater, Fla.; a step-son, Ed Wyatt of Clay City; three daughters, Mrs. Shirley Shelton of Clay City, Tammy Ranee Martin of Clay City, Peggy Higgins of Mt. Carmel; a step-daughter, Deborah Moore of Clay City; one brother, Bill Laird of Cisne; three sisters, Pauline Wells of Cisne, Faye Engelmeier of Flora, Lois Shadline of Baltimore, Md.; 12 grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, two brothers, and one sister.

ELLEN MARGUERITE SPARR, 89, of Cisne, IL passed away at 7:18PM Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Flora Rehab and Healthcare at Flora, IL.

Ellen was born December 30, 1923 at Clay City, IL to William Tilford and Ada (Coulter) Brummet. She first married Raleigh Edwin Laird January 9, 1940 at Henderson, KY. She later married Fred Sparr August, 1965 at Flora, IL and he preceded her in death

Ellen was a housewife and a member of Zif Baptist Church near Clay City, IL.

Ellen is survived by two daughters Shirley (Fred) Shelton and Peggy (David) Loehr; two sons Larry (Jenny) Laird and Jerry (Cecilia) Laird and one step son William Lowell Sparr. Also surviving are seventeen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband's Fred and Raleigh, son Kirby Joe, parents, sister Naomi Fildes, brothers Tilford and Woodrow Brummett; step daughters Rosie Bolen and Anna Mae Holmes and half brothers Hobbert, Eli and Raymond Hubble.

Graveside services for Ellen Sparr will be 11AM Friday, Oct. 25, 2013 at Laird Cemetery near Cisne, IL. There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to Clay County Hospice and will be accepted at Hosselton Funeral Home.
